Yard Tools and Carts

Gardener's Garden Supplies

Men pushing barrows or yard tools and carts moved the stuff that built civilization, and aside from the addition of a little power and rubber tires, not much has changed. From trash to topsoil to building materials, everything travels more quickly when you stick a wheel underneath it.

Carts and wheelbarrows help you move heavy loads by distributing the weight over the wheels. A wheelbarrow has a sloped tray and one or two wheels in the front. You have to push it, but it maneuvers easily and can go anywhere. A cart, on the other hand, has straight sides and two or more large wheels. It works best when pulled ideally over a smooth surface, though its big wheels can bridge holes. Carts are also more stable and carry more volume than wheelbarrows.
If you are an outdoor person and love doing your work around the house, then you know the importance of having all the tools at one place. You know how tedious it is to run from one place to the other carrying the tools one by one. It is a much better option to have a garden cart and carry everything at once. Yard carts or garden carts are the perfect piece of machinery for transport and storage. They come in all sorts of designs, shapes and sizes.

The traditional garden carts were the ones which had straight sides and handles at front. They could be easily maneuvered around and carried a lot of load at once. Now there are dolly designs which have enhanced functionality and storage space. Garden carts also differ in the material and the wheel design. The wheelbarrow styled garden way cart has two wheels whereas more modern versions have as many as four wheels for increased stability on rough surfaces.

Choosing between looks and functionality

While the functionality of the garden cart cannot be compromised upon, it never really hurts anybody if the cart looks good as well. Some carts are perfect for everyday gardening and tasks like moving dirt, transporting buds, seeds for planting etc. These garden carts have a unique design which reduces the load on the lower back and you can carry it with ease. They are smaller in size as well.

Some advanced carts have a collapsible design which allows the walls to be collapsed so that larger tools can also be accommodated. One of the latest designs to hit the market is the pneumatic garden cart which has an ergonomic design. This cart has a hand lever or a foot pump which can lower the cart to ground level for loading and unloading the load. If you are looking for a designer cart then garden and flower displays and carts go hand in hand. You can always choose from a floral theme.
