Outdoor String Lighting

Outdoor string lighting brings something to the air that just make you want to smile particularly at Christmas time when we string the lights around inside and outside of our homes. Putting outdoor string lighting around the inside of our homes, and yards are available in clear, solid color, and multicolor; they also can include the option of staying lit constantly, twinkling, or in a unique chase pattern.

Outdoor string lighting is one way to create sparkle, charm or gives a festive atmosphere for any patio or holiday gathering. They are not to be confused with the traditional Christmas lights; these globe lights or string lights offer homeowners a new way of festive lighting. Outdoor patio string lights are also an excellent way to light arbors, playhouses, pool areas, and for any nighttime enjoyment. Just picture how nice it will be entertaining your friends in your backyard with string lights in the trees, on the patio or on the deck.

Solar string lights have a couple of advantages, one is the fact that your electric bill will not fluctuate when you use them on a daily basis. Another advantage is you do not have to worry about extension cords running all over your backyard. These lights are not run off electricity but by the power from the sun. The solar panel needs to be placed in an area that will receive enough sun in order to recharge their batteries, sometimes in the winter that will be a difficult task to accomplish.

Some of todays string Christmas lights and outdoor string party lights are LED lights. What are the advantages to purchasing LED outdoor lights? There are a number of reasons: the average bulb will last 10 years or better; they use about 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs; they save money because you can use them over and over again; they are safe to use giving off practically no heat and they are much brighter than the standard string lights.

Outdoor string lighting is one of the most popular ways to decorate your home and garden during the holiday season. Outdoor Christmas light displays are usually done with outdoor string lighting. We can hang white string Christmas lights on a tree in the front yard, we can hang them on the eaves of the house to outline the shape of the building and net outdoor string lights on the bushes. Many of us also enjoy decorating our backyards and patios for the Christmas holiday. You can hang white string lights on the eaves of your home that surround a deck, or displaying a walkway leading to the garden. Another good place to hang colored string lights or rope lights is on your back fence. Which ever type of lighting you use in your garden will create a sense of ambience to everyone who visits.

If and when you decide to decorate your trees with outdoor string lighting there are a few things to remember: these lights are going to be plugged into an electrical outlet or extension cords that lead to the outlet; the shorter distance between the lights and the outlet the less chance you have of getting frayed wires. A good method of stringing these lights is by using a pole with a hook at one end. Drape a sting of lights over the hook and extend the pole over the branches, turn the pole until the lights come off the hook and onto the branch, continue this method until you have run out lights. Another method is just to toss the string into the tree; this method does not get the lights exactly where you want them and usually does not look very good.

Whatever way you choose to get the outdoor string lighting into the tree remember that they are going to be there during some pretty harsh winter weather and you want to make sure they are going to stay there. You need to attach the lights with tree clips or twist ties to keep them secure.
